MY KIND OF WOMAN
Touya is the son of your fathers greatest business rival. Youâre supposed to hate him, but you definitely dont.
No quirks, forbidden romance
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ-
Touya Todoroki looks good tonight.
You feel guilty the second the thought enters your brain, like your father might be hearing it. He doesnât want you talking to guys, much like any father, but if thereâs any person in the world heâd kill you for even looking at, itâs Touya, the son of his rival companyâs owner.
Youâre not even sure what it is your fathers do. Something about finance, computers, science. All you know is that itâs a filthy business, and the Todorokis and Tanakas had been at each other's throats for years. If there was one name that had been run through the dirt in your house, it was Todoroki. Enji had done this, heâd stolen this client, taken this deal. You didnât really care. All you knew was that you were supposed to hate them all, so you did. Especially Touya, because he was next in line to take over the company, and according to local rumours, he was as misbehaved as they come. Which you were supposed to care about, apparently.
But then you actually met him. And you donât think you hated him at all.
It was, funnily enough, at a company party. Some firm that both sides of this inane war partnered with, and your dad had forced you to go. So you did, in a little black dress and a perfect smile as you walked around with him like the good daughter you were. You greeted the people you were supposed to greet. You smiled at the old ladies who complimented your unblemished skin and laughed at all the weird comments his too old coworkers made. You only finally got away under the guise of using the bathroom. Truthfully, you took to walking around the place theyâd rented out, an old auditorium, peering into the empty rooms. They were mostly filled with boxes, extra chairs and storage. But there was one room, with wide windows and boxes of stage equipment, that piqued your interest.
Because it was in that room that you saw Touya.Â
He had dark black hair that fell over his eyes, sleeves rolled up while the suit jacket he was supposed to be wearing was abandoned on a chair to the side. He had cracked open a window, and was deftly blowing the smoke from his cigarette out of it. He must have heard your heels clicking against the floor, because as he turned to face you, you noticed the piercings on his eyebrow and septum and his lip. And you also noticed that he was handsome. In an alluring, heâd probably make you fall in love with him then leave you, sort of way.Â
You had heard rumours about Touya. Everyone had, to be honest. Your town was small and overridden with gossip, both in your age demographic and your parents. The stuff youâd heard about the man in front of you shouldâve been more than enough to steer you away, that and all your fathers warnings. But the party was boring, and you were still a little pissed at your dad for making you come, so you decided your definitely entertain this.
He tilted his head, and the cigarette burned between his fingers.
âI know you. Youâre Tanakaâs daughter.â His voice was low and deep, rumbling in his chest as he eyed you.
You nodded, taking another step in the room. âIn the flesh. Iâm not supposed to be talking to you.â You smile.
Touyaâs lips curled into a smile. âShame.â He took another puff of his cigarette. âYou just going to stand there then?â
You walked forward until you were next to him. You pointed at the cigarette.Â
âYou got another?â
He hummed. âNo. We can share, though.â
He held it out to you, and you took it easily, taking a long slow drag. You sighed, blowing the smoke out the window.
âWe basically just kissed.âÂ
You shot him an amused glance. âAre you twelve?â
âNo. Eighteen. Just like you.âÂ
Touya crossed his arms on the ledge of the window. Like that, the setting sun casted shadows across his face, the flattering blue of his eyes almost glowing as he turned to look at you.
You leant against the wall, avoiding eye contact. âShould I be concerned that you know that?â
âNo. Iâm sure you know as well as I do how much our fathers love talking about each other.â
You snorted a laugh. âGod, heâd kill me if he saw me with you right now.âÂ
Touya pouted. âIâm not that bad. Iâm nice. Iâm even sharing it with you.â He reached out his hand to grab the cigarette and you passed it to him, your fingers brushing.
âMhm. I'll be sure to tell him how kind you were to smoke with me.â You nodded sympathetically, and he grinned something dangerous.
It was all sort of the end after that.
You started to run into him a lot more. While he didnât go to the local school like you, but the two of you lived in the same neighbourhood. You went to the library to study and there he was, with a blonde haired girl who nearly got kicked out for talking too much. You stopped at the mall to grab some clothes and there he was with the blonde hair boy from school whoâs always chatting girls up.Â
And every time heâd stop you just before you left, entice you with good conversation and a cigarette outside. And who were you to deny it? He was good conversation. He had good taste in music, and he made you laugh. Youâd started hoping that youâd run into him more every time you left the house. And yes, maybe you started to develop a teensy little crush on him. It didnât help when he slipped you his phone number one day.
Youâd just gotten out of your car, about to fill it up at the gas station, when you heard the rev of a motorcycle and a shout.
âHey! Tanaka!âÂ
You turned to the source of the voice to see Touya hopping off his bike. You assumed it was his bike. Heâd mentioned it a couple times, and the sleek metal and soft leather seats looked pretty close to his very detailed descriptions. He took his helmet off and god, the mess of his hair and the pink of his cheeks had you smiling instantly. You lock your car door and wave.
âHiya. What are you doing here?â
He tapped the back of his bike. âFuelling her up.â He looks down at your car.
âNice ride.â
You rolled your eyes. It is definitely not a nice ride. Unfortunately you got the kind of rich parents that wanted you to earn money the old fashioned way, which included using your shitty part time job to pay for your first car.Â
âItâs safer than that death machine.â You raised your eyebrows at his bike and he smoothed his hands over her.
âAw, lighten up. Sheâs safe enough. And sheâs beautiful, isnât she?â
You rolled your eyes, finishing up filling your car, but you couldnât help the little smile on your face. âItâs a machine, Touya. You canât hurt her feelings.â
You started walking towards the store to pay, and he immediately followed, twirling his keys on his finger. âSo where are you headed?â
âHome. Just finished work.â
Touya tilted his head. He held the door open for you and you walked in, quietly thanking him. Heâs tall, so he had no issue reaching over and pushing it open before you even could touch the handle.
âWork? Where do you work?â
The store was empty, apart from an blred looking employee fiddling with the cash register. You eyed the chocolate bars and he watched you do so, standing a little closer than normal. âI work at that bookshop on Green street.â
âReally?â
âYeah. You know it?â You grab a pack of m&ms.Â
Touya nodded. You both walked over to the fridges, and he slid the door open and you grabbed a can of coke. You pull your hoodie sleeves over your hands. âYeah. My sisterâs always in there.â He said.
You hum. âI probably know her.â
âNot better than me, I hope. I should be the only Todoroki in your life.â He pouted and you snorted a laugh.
âOh, donât worry, you are.âÂ
Touya grabbed a red bull and the two of you walked to the counter. Touya queued first, and you watched him fumble in his pockets for his wallet, and come up empty. He looked up sheepishly at the cashier.
Shit. I left my wallet at home.â He turned to you with an apologetic look on his face. âYou have a dollar?â
You smiled, stepping forward. Touya protested as you asked the cashier to ring you up too, but you batted his hands away. He huffed next to you and you rolled your eyes.
âConsider this repayment for that cigarette.â You grinned, tapping your card.
Touya walked you the short distance back to your car. âDoes this make you my sugar mommy?â
âEw, Touya! Thatâs gross. Iâll take the red bull back.â
Touya laughed loudly. âIf you want. Iâve already slobbered all over it though.â
âI think Iâve shared enough cigarettes with you to not care about that.â
You dug in your purse for your car keys, key rings jingling as you unlocked it.
âI guess this is goodbye once more.â
âIt sure is, Tanaka.â
Before you could get in it though, he stopped you, hand circling your wrist. His fingers were wet with condensation from the red bull, and you noticed how easily they wrapped around you.
âWait. Give me your phone.â
You looked at him in confusion. âWhat, you leave that at home too?â
âHa ha. No. Just give it. Come on, babe.â
You sighed reluctantly, but dug it out of your pocket nonetheless. âDonât call me babe.â
âYou prefer baby?â
âI prefer Y/N.â
He did something. You couldnât even see, but you trusted him, brushing a hair behind you head as you watched him tap away. You heard a chime come from his phone, and when he passed yours back, you saw heâd given you his number.
âPerfect.âÂ
You tried to hide the smile that was itching to grace your lips. âWhat was that for?â
He just slipped his helmet on, unashamed of his own grin. âSo I can repay you for that Redbull. Give me a time and place, angel.â
âY/N.â
He brushed you off. âSame thing.â
It was all downhill from there. He beat you in 8 ball IMessage games every night and sent you the dumbest TikToks youâd ever seen in your life, and you loved it. Touya called you when he was at work, on his walks home, while he was doing school stuff. It only made everything more exciting how forbidden it all was. Sneaking around town so nobody saw you two, only meeting late at night. Sure, you had to clamber out your window on the nights your parents were home and awake, but it was all worth it.
And nothing happened. Not yet, at least. It was nice to complain about your parents to somebody who understood, and the two of you got along in every other aspect too. There was that tension that always hung there whenever the two of you hung out. In the backseat of your car, the alleyway behind his house. The little voice that whispered in the back of head for more, for you to bridge that little gap the two of you were teetering on. But you ignored it, because it was bad enough you two were even friends. Let alone anything else.
But good things never last, and you get found out.
Itâs after school, once youâd finished the tutoring gig you have on the side for extra credit in history. Your car was at the shop, and your bus decided it didnât want to show up that day, so you called the only person you knew with a vehicle (and the only person you wanted to call).Â
He got here quicker than you thought he would and you frown as the motorbike revs its way into the parking lot. He parked the bike and ripped the helmet off his head. Touya looked far too happy as he hopped off, immediately dumping a helmet in your hands. You quickly text your dad that your friend Rumi was driving you home. Itâs not like heâd know. He was at some country club thing across town.
âI knew youâd give in.â He teased.
You pouted and held it for a moment. âI canât believe I'm going to die at eighteen on a motorbike.â
Touya tutted. âNone of that talk. This will be fun.â He whispered the last word, his low drawl sending a shiver up your spine.
You brushed him off, patting your hair down so you could fit the helmet on your head. It was big and bulky, and you lifted up the visor to look at him.
âAw. You look cute.â
âAt least Iâll die pretty.â
He pulled the visor down and knocked the side of the helmet. âStop talking about dying. Iâll protect you, sweetheart.âÂ
You rolled your eyes. âEnough. Okay. How do we do this?â
Touya sat down on the motorbike. When his legs curved over the side you noticed they were more muscular than you first ever realised, even in the grey sweats he had on. He patted the seat behind him.
âOn you get.â
You sighed. You made sure your bag was secured on your back, and gingerly hopped on. You pulled down your skirt as it hitched up your legs, and tried to ignore Touyaâs eyes burning holes in your skin. You gripped the edge of the seat and Touya laughed.
âNo can do, doll. You gotta hold me.â
Right. That made more sense.Â
Your arms reached and curled around his middle, resting on his waist. You felt the hard line of muscle on his stomach, and you felt his chest rumble as he laughed once more.
âCloser. Come on, I donât bite. Not unless you ask me to.â
You mumbled some choice words under your breath before you scooted closer. âAlright. Iâm ready.â
âYou sure?â He asked, clipping in his own helmet.
âI guess so.âÂ
The motorbike revved to life and you yelped. Your hands immediately gripped him tighter, and as Touya pulled out the parking lot and started driving youâre sure you almost suffocated him with how hard you were holding on. You couldnât think about the fact he smelled like cigarettes and something musky, because wind was rushing through your hair and face, even where your face was pressed against his back. But, regardless of all that, it was great. Thrilling and adrenaline inducing in a way you hadnât felt before.
âItâs good, right?â He yelled and you nodded, a smile almost splitting your face in half.
You made it home sooner than youâd have liked. You hopped off the bike, hair sticking on end as you took the helmet off.
âThat was fun! Terrifying, but fun.â You yelled. Your ears were a little blocked from the rush of wind.
He fixed the hairs on your head that were sticking all over the place. His hands were bigger than yours but he was gentle as he brushed a strand of hair off your face.
âI told you I wouldn't kill you. Maybe next time you can drive.â His voice was softer than usual, and it made you feel warm.
âOh, this is never happening again, trust me.â
âI agree.â
You froze. Touya froze too, and you cursed under your breath because that was your fatherâs voice. Your father who was supposed to be at some country club event right now, which is why you asked Touya to drop you home in the first place. Your face burned red and you turned to see him standing at the front door fuming, staring at the two of you. You immediately stepped away from Touya, and you thought that maybe for one second he didnât recognise him, that some elaborate lie could get you out of this mess.
âGet off my property, Todoroki, before I call the police.â His voice was clipped and angry.
Fuck. âDad, itâs-â
He looked at you with an expression so cold and disappointed it silenced you almost instantly. You faltered, turning to Touya. He looked just as caught in the headlights as you did. He stepped forward, to say something, cut through the tension that surrounded your front lawn, but your dad didnât let him get a word in.
He pulled out his phone. Just held it in the air and fixed Touya with a glare. âYou have about ten seconds.â
Your father was a man of his word and youâre happy Touya had some sense to believe him. He clipped his helmet back on his head, and you heard the rev of the motorcycle interrupt the silence before he drove away.Â
âDad-â
âGet inside.â
It was weird, being told off. You hadnât been scolded like that, sat on the couch as your parents stood across from you with fury in their eyes, since you were a child. You were eighteen, for crying out loud. And yet, you still found yourself waiting for him to say something, not brave enough to storm off to your room when he looked as pissed as he did. After another few moments of aching silence, he finally spoke.
âAre you trying to destroy my work? My- My livelihood? Everything me and half the men in your family worked their whole lives for?â
You furrowed your eyebrows. âWhat? Dad, we were just-â
âYou shouldnât be anything with that boy! Do you even know what heâs like?â He yelled.
You sat up straighter. âHeâs not a boy, Dad, heâs eighteen years old. So am I! We donât have any business with you and Enji!â
Your dad shook his head. âItâs not about that! Itâs- Do you even know his intentions? What if- His father is not a good man, Y/N. God knows what his son would turn out like.â
And you felt anger bridling between your veins, your head screaming at you to defend Touyaâs name, because you know he has good intentions, that he has no business with Enji. Heâs complained about him enough that you think he might hate him more than your own father does.Â
He cursed under his breath. He sat down heavily on the coffee table across from you.
âListen. I know you donât care about this business, that you have no interest in it. Thatâs fine. I keep you out of it as much as I can, so I understand why you donât realise why this is so bad.â
Your father rubbed at his eyes, and it was in moments like that you saw his age. That you noticed the wrinkles that had made home on his face, the tiredness that never seemed to leave no matter how much he slept.
âBut it is bad. This- This business, itâs so competitive. Everything matters. And it looks bad for my partners if they see you together. You know how things are in this town, how much people talk, and heâs not exactly got the most picture perfect image. I mean, the dyed hair, the piercings.â Your dad shakes his head. âThereâs- You know he has a criminal record? He committed arson when he was fifteen.â
âBut Dad-â
âThereâs no buts. Not only do this bad for me, but you said you had school, and I see you coming home on a motorbike when me and your mother arenât home. All because of that boy.â He spits.
âI didnât lie, I did have school. He was just dropping me home!â
âYou told me Rumi was dropping you home. So you lied. And Iâm sure itâs not the first time. Donât think we donât know youâve been sneaking out.â
Your face burned red. You didnât even try to deny it and. Your father nodded his head. âSee? We thought it was just- Rebellious teenager stuff. But now I know you were probably going out to see him.â
Your father stopped you before you could try defend yourself. âYouâre grounded. School and then work and then home. No more sneaking out and no more motorbikes.â
Your mouth gaped open. âWhat? I donât even get to defend myself?â
âNo. Go to your room.âÂ
âIâm not a child, dad! You canât ground me!â You spluttered, but he shrugged.
âYouâre still living under my roof, and I'm still paying for everything. So yeah, I can ground you.â
It was a bit hard to defend your maturity when you did indeed storm into your room like a child. It was a surprise you didnât get in even more trouble for your little outburst. Youâre sure if your father wasnât as tired as he was he wouldâve doubled your punishment for talking back like you did.Â
So you stopped talking to Touya. You didn't want to, but the watchful eyes of your parents and the guilt from that exhausted look that you put on your fathers face was sort of eating you up. You never really thought about the fact that he wouldâve wanted you to take over the business, like he took it from his father. How much it all meant to him. You didnât understand the logistics of his business because you never cared to and you canât help but feel a little horrible because of it.
So you started leaving Touya on delivered. You replied less and you ignored the heavy weight on your chest it caused and the fact that you missed him more each second he was away. You knew if you entertained his conversation even slightly youâd be back to sneaking out and finding him in town, so you tried as best as you could to keep your distance. You felt bad that you couldnât explain why. But the truth is you barely understood why yourself.
You worked and studied and came home just like your parents asked, desperate for your freedom and less of their overbearing eyes on you all the time.
But you couldnât avoid Touya forever, and soon enough, thereâs another party your whole family is expected to be at, some community thing that apparently everyone in town is going to. Your fathers up for an award and he wants you there. Youâve been informed your grounding will be lifted if you can show up and look the part, so youâre sort of excited to go, if more for the outcome than the event itself.
You wear a dark blue dress, the slit coming up to your thigh. The soft, silk material shines as it catches the light, and you pair it with a gold necklace your mother had bought you years ago. You do your makeup and fix your hair, spritzing yourself with your most expensive perfume. Youâre not stupid. You know Touya is going to be there, so you may as well dress the part in case he catches a glimpse of you.
And, low and behold, he does. Youâve seen him once tonight. Heâs wearing a black suit and a black button up and he sticks out like a sore thumb in between his family, but you know he doesnât care. He looks bored and itâs a good look on him. His jaw is set and he sips in a glass of champagne. He notices you just once, blue eyes locking onto yours. They look at your face, drop to the exposed skin of your legs and collarbones. And then they look away.
You last about an hour of speeches and clapping before you find yourself outside. Today's venue is fancier and security guarded, so instead of exploring, you just stand outside, a ways away from the door. You wish you could go home but your ride is inside and probably still pissed at you. You itch for a cigarette and the boy who comes with them.
You know that you could probably call him right now and heâd come out, but. You feel some obligation to your family. To your father. Itâs the least you could do to keep your hands off him tonight of all nights.
âYou wanna share?â
You turn, and like you knew deep down, heâs there. It took him about ten minutes, but you knew heâd follow you out. You were hoping for it, relally. To get a glimpse of him alone, like he was really all for you. Heâs illuminated by the moonlight and the soft glow of the streetlight you were leaning on. You look at the cigarette waiting patiently in his hands, and you look away.
âNo, thanks.â
You can hear cars driving a couple streets down. The night air is cold, and your hands rub up and down your arms to try to warm you up. Touya nudges your arm and when you look, his suit jacket is in his hands.
âIâm alright.â
Touya frowns. âSo thatâs it? Youâre just never going to speak to me again?â
You shake your head, turning away. âItâs- I canât, Touya.â
And he scoffs, incredulous. He pulls you back and his skin is warm even outside. And when you face him, he looks desperate, and you want to turn away. He doesnât let go of you though, and holds you in place.
âYou can. Who gives a shit what our parents want?â
âI do!â You yell. âTouya, you know what our fathers are like. This- This business is everything for them!âÂ
âOkay? And what does that have to do with us?â He says, his grip tightening.Â
âIt-â You struggle for the words like theyâre stuck in your throat. âIt has everything to do with us, come on, Touya. You know that.â
Even this, just talking to him is enough to have your parents mad at you. And if anyone inside catches this? Catches the way his hands are sliding down your arms to hold yours, the way youâre looking up at him? Youâre dead.
âI donât know. I- God. You make me sound so whipped.âÂ
He mumbles the last sentence like itâs just meant for him. At the confused look on your face he smiles, bittersweet and aching.
âI donât know what it has to do with us, Y/N.â And itâs your name that leaves his lips, not some stupid nickname, and it tugs at your heart. âI donât know and honestly, I donât care.â
âIâm not taking over the business. I donât give a shit about my dad and everything he stands for. I give a shit about you. I know that- thereâs probably a hundred other guys that are probably way more deserving of you but.âÂ
He swallows roughly. Runs a hand through perfectly imperfect hair, then immediately comes back to hold you.Â
âBut I like you. Okay? I- I like you and I donât care that our parents are fucking company rivals, I couldnât give less of a shit. I really like you. And- you not talking to me for the past few days? Itâs fucking killing me.â
âI-âÂ
But he cuts you off. âDonât lie. Okay? Donât lie to me. Donât act like you donât feel the same way.â
He steps closer. Your hand comes up and rests on his chest and you think you can feel his heartbeat.
âTouya. I donât- I donât know.â
Your fingers curl in his shirt. The fabric feels expensive in your hands, rough against the smoothness of his skin. The distance between you is so small, yet you feel like it might take everything in you to pull him closer. His hands slide from your hands to settle against your waist and they burn through the layers of your dress.Â
You can hear the sound of music slipping out from under the doors. You wonder how long it will take for someone to notice youâre missing, and you wonder if youâll be here with Touya when they do. You can only imagine the look on your fathers face, the look on Enji, if they caught you two even talking. Let alone whatever this is.
The dress youâre wearing does nothing to protect you from the cold, but you donât think itâs the reason youâre shivering. Itâs wrong. God, itâs so wrong that you can feel it physically, the cells in your body urging you to pull away.
But heâs looking at you like nobody ever has. Eyes flirting from your lips, to the slope of your nose, the heat you can feel colouring your cheeks. Thereâs a look of desperation in his face youâd feel horrible to ignore, like he might die if he goes one more second without you. The streetlight casts shards of light across his face and youâre certain the person standing in front of you canât be human. You find him beautiful in a way you didnât think was possible, and youâre scared and begging that he knows that.
You stand, silent and breathing, for what might be a lifetime. Youâre both daring the other to make the first move. Both too scared to ask for what you want.
Touya lifts his hand. He curls it around your face, rests it against the space in between your neck, just where it meets your shoulder. He asks. Silent and still somehow the loudest thing youâve ever heard.
A nod. Imperceptible at best, but enough. Enough for someone desperately searching for it.Â
A breath.
And then heâs on you. His hands pull you closer and your own curve against the slope of his jaw, scratching against the faint stubble on his chin. And his lips are rough and pressing as they melt against your own, like heâs trying to fit himself inside your mouth. He bites at your bottom lip and your mouth opens with a soft noise, and heâs licking, tongue searching your gums and the uneven line of your teeth.Â
You push him back, panting for breath. âWe- Touya, chill.â You laugh breathlessly as his lips trail down your neck, licking at your pulse and biting at the soft skin of your shoulders.
âNo.â
âSomeone could walk out and see us.â You whisper weakly.Â
âDonât care. Iâd fuck you in front of them all.â
âTouya.â You scold, blushing furiously.
You finally push him back properly. Your hands come up and land on his face, thumb brushing the globe of his cheeks. His face is flushed and warm and his lips look so kissed and swollen. He blinks impossibly long lashes at you and you smile despite yourself.
âI like you too. Obviously. I just- You need to give me time. To figure this all out.â
He swallows and you watch his Adam Apple bob.Â
âI know you donât care about what your father thinks, but I do. And- I need to find a way to convince him. Then, we can see.â
Touya nods. He waits a beat. âDoes this mean youâll stop ignoring me?âÂ
Guilt clenches in your stomach. âYes. Sorry about that.â You say sheepishly.
He hums. âI think Iâll need a few more kisses first before I forgive you.â
âDegenerate. Pass me that cigarette.âÂ

WEARING IMAGINARY RINGS
touya todoroki x reader
you find your late husbands last words. his real last words.
mha official ending spoilers
part 3/3, part one, part two
inspired by fresh out the slammer

the news of his death came as a surprise to no one.
there was no long explanation, no teary eyes other than yours. it was simple: one day, he just couldnât hold on any longer. he had succumb to his injuries from all those years ago. at some point, your husband, amidst the beeping of hospital machines and wiring, took his final breath.
his family was doing okay, or so you heard. rei was distraught, just wondering how this could have all been different. she cursed herself for ever bringing touya into the world, only to condemn him to suffer. fuyumi, like an eldest daughter would, tried desperately to hold it all together. natsuo didnât show up until afterwards, and seemed angry at everything and everyone. shouto hardly spoke, but his silence was the perhaps the loudest thing in that room. no one could even look enji in the eyes. good.
and so instead of grieving with your in-laws, you sat on your living-room floor. the hard wood tiles seemed to grieve alongside you, as if wondering where touya was. this house was a home, and the floors loved to house both of you together. now, with just one person, it seemed incomplete.
touyaâs blue jacket hung around your shoulders. you clutched it around your body, trying to savour the remnants of his scent. if you couldnât save him, youâd save his clothes.
in the midst of your hands feeling the fabric, an unfamiliar sensation washes over your fingers as it wanders into the right pocket. its paper.
you slowly take it out, looking at its rather crumpled and old appearance. this must have been there for quite some time. smudged in ink is your name.
your breath hitches, but the desperation to hear from touya again washes over as you slowly unfold the paper. your hands shake slightly as you unfold the paper, as youâre immediately met with the sight of touyaâs familiar handwriting. each letter loops and curls in a way that is uniquely his. the mere sight of his handwriting brings a fresh wave of pain and sadness, but similarly, a sense of comfort. his words on paper was almost like hearing his voice speak to you once again, wherever he was now.
Doll,
I donât know when youâre going to find this, or if you ever will. But if youâre reading this now, it probably means something happened. Whether Iâm still alive or not, I want you to know a few things.
First, I love you. So goddamn much. I never thought it was possible to love someone so much, to feel like theyâre a part of me. And a part of me still doesnât believe that you love me too. Youâre an idiot for that.
I wanted to spend my whole life with you. Wake up next to you every day, hold you in my arms, kiss you, laugh with you, fight and make up and just.. be with you. But that kind of happiness isnât meant for me. Not after everything Iâve done. But if there is an afterlife, I hope Iâll get all of that there.
I donât regret what I did. Taking down Enji.. But I do regret leaving you. And If I could, Iâd be running back home to you. To your shitty cooking, to you wearing my clothes. Iâd finally agree to get all the cats you wanted, and Iâd make more time for you. I was such a prick while I was around, but you loved me anyway.
And If I knew better towards the end, Iâd learn from all these mistakes. Iâd vow to never lose you ever again. I love you like that, doll. And Iâll never really understand why you love me. Why youâd deal with all the questions, how youâd disappear from your normal life for just a glimpse of my smile. Donât know how I got so lucky.
And If I know my wife, I know that youâll still wait up at the porch light. Remember all the times Iâd run up to you, only after midnight so no one would find us. When Iâm with you it doesnât matter what Iâve done. If things were different, I wouldnât have screwed up. If I knew I was gonna fall in love with you, Iâd be a better man. What a coward I am, right doll?
I know how hard this is going to be, living without me. I know that youâre going to be hurting, that youâre going to feel lost and alone and like you want to just give up and be with me. And I donât want you to do that. I want you to keep going, to live your life, to be happy. Please, for me. You have so much more to give and experience in your life, and I donât want you to waste it.
I know this isnât going to be easy for you, and a part of me feels like a goddamn coward for writing this instead of saying it to your face. But I just canât bear the thought of seeing you cry, of seeing the pain in your eyes, of seeing the realization that this is goodbye on your face. Iâm a selfish asshole, and I couldnât handle it. So I chose the cowardâs way out.
Keep my ring. If you do find some other asshole who loves you, just know I love you more. I know I told you to move on, but Iâm a selfish prick. Whoever that guy is he can go fuck himself. Youâre my wife.
Just promise youâll keep living, for me. Keep being that bright, beautiful, kind, amazing person that I fell in love with. All those nights, you kept me going. I am so, so fucking grateful I got to love you while I did.
And one day, when itâs your time to go, come and find me in the afterlife. Iâll be waiting for you.
Yours,
Touya

Meet the Todorokis

@supernatural-hunter1 @dabisangle
Dabi told you about his family before he did the reveal to the whole of Japan. He told you about how abusive his father was, how his mom did nothing to help, how his siblings didn't understand what it felt like to be in his position and how he hated his youngest brother. From the little information he'd give you, throughout the months of being together, you.cpuld tell there was some serious trauma and his home life and family were anything but loving. Aside from the physical scars, you knew there was some pretty bad mental scarring, even though he tried to play off the hurt and pain by being cocky and nonchalant.
When the heroes found out you were involved with the league and Dabi, especially romantically, you became a top priority for Endeavor to capture and lock away, so that's what happened. When you were caught, you were sent to Tartarus and servailenced 24/7, heavily armed guards would be posted in your room and right outside of it. The room littered with cameras, there was an inch of privacy in that tiny space you now called home. But you knew, you knew Dabi would save you, it would just take a little time, until then, you had to grin and bare it.
It was the same routine everyday, sitting in that small, padded room with cameras covering inch after inch, doing nothing but letting your mind drift away and thinking about the league but especially Dabi. How was he doing, what was he doing, did he miss you, was he even thinking about you? You didn't doubt he was but curiosity was eating at your brain and heart, taking over your thoughts. So, it was a big surprise when you were told you had visitors and the Todorokis, nonetheless. They were all there, Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo, Shoto.... and I guess the man that Touya had to call father was there too. It would've been sweet too have such a messed up family if you didn't know their dirty little secrets and the reasons for visiting in the first place. They all looked empty- heartbroken even, their eyes full of sorrows and regret while Reis eyes leaked salty tears ,only to be comforted by daughter... huh, you wonder if any of them tried to comfort Touya that way. Then again, given the family and their dynamic, you highly doubt it. But, sat in front of this fucked up family as they stared you down and asked invasive questions, you started too understand it wasn't out of love for Touya, it was because of guilt and that just pissed you off a lot more. They weren't trying too right their wrongs, it was because they knew that they were horrible for what they did and they tried too quiet their guilt. So you can't really blame yourself for snapping and going off on that horrible man- thing. That horrible thing. "What would you say you're relationship to my son is." You scowled at Enjis question, a scoff falling from your lips unintentionally but you didn't try too stop it. Your eyes narrowed at that abusive man, only obsessed with the image of the so-called greater-good. He didn't even ask how Touya has been, how much the thought of his old man being praised for being a hero when in actuality, he was more of a villain then most were, ate at Touya every night, kept him up for days- weeks even- on end. "Don't. Call him that, Touya is no longer your son, he is no longer the boy that yearned for your praise and approval, no longer the boy that was willing to kill himself too make you happy. He's better, different now. His eyes have been opened to your disgusting ways of bullshit parenting." It was said more aggressively then you thought it was but, he needed too understand Dabi would never be Touya- their Touya, ever again, he was your Touya now and forever.
Endeavors hands tightened into fists at that, while his wifes eyes dropped, looking away and squeezing tightly as she breathed in a stuttered inhale. "He's still my son, I wasn't the best fath-" there's a quick cut off from you as you shifted in your seat. "No. You weren't even a father to begin with, so don't give me that bullshit speech that you're sorry and you regret what you did because I don't care to listen to it, you can give your traumatized family that bullshit but I won't listen to it." It's spat at him, your voice raising in pitch towards the end of your sentence as you scowled at the false hero. You didn't mean to go on a tangent rant but.. it happened. "You, Enji Todoroki, abused your children. You attempted to use them for your own selfish desires and make up for your pathetic failures and all your overwhelming undoings. You. Are no man- especially not a father. No father would ever. Force their child to take on such a burden, so young in their life. No man would ever put his hands on a woman- much less their wife. The woman who gave you those children in the first place. The woman who took care of them and bathed them, dressed them, read them bed time stories while you chased after a dream you, yourself acknowledged would never happen on your own, so you tried to live through your children. And you, Rei Todoroki. The first time that man put his fucking hands on you or your children, you should've left him. Don't ever let a man put his fucking hands on your children. Ever. You. Are no mother. No mother would throw boiling water on her sons face because she couldn't stand the piece of shit man that she was forced too marry. Your kids are their own people and have their own dreams. The reason the both of you even have kids was selfish from the get-go. I'm happy Touya got out- got away. None of your kids deserved that, but especially Touya. Now leave." By the end of it, Rei was in tears and Enjis teeth were clenched so tight, you thought they were gonna break as his fists were tight and shaking, his knuckles turning pale, ghost white as his eyes became wet and started too sting. The family left quickly after that as the door slammed behind them.
You couldn't wait for Dabi to end Enji Todorokis pathetic life of lies.

You + me = three
Summary: Headcannons of Touya with a pregnant partner đĽšđ
Touya/Dabi x fem!reader
Warnings: language, and general wholesome behavior (these hcâs are my therapy atp)

Telling Touya you were pregnant was a worrisome task to say the leastÂ
Because even though you both worked to be as emotionally available to each other as possible
This was a subject that you had no idea how heâd react to
Because pregnancy wasnât something the two of you had talked about, even in your late night discussions of what you wanted your futures to look like, a child was never mentionedÂ
He knew that he was barely alive as it is
And I suppose he thought that the trauma his body had experienced would probably put the possibility of being a father out of his reach.Â
he would be lying if he said that this saddened him, if only a little
Because even though he never mentioned having them
He thought about kids with you
A lot.Â
Because currently he was in a relationship with the only person heâd want to start a family with
But as mentioned, he wasnât really sure if that would be possible for him
So youâd bet that when you decided how youâd tell him
And you took him out for dinner at his favorite soba place
And those two momentous words left your mouth
He was beyond shocked.Â
Heâd stare at you for a long moment, his eyes drifting from yours to your belly, over and over again, while a wide smile spread across his face
âYou serious?â
And when youâd confirm? It was like there was a light at the end of the long tunnel heâd been stuck in since the night heâd burned up
Something to look forward to, beyond the repercussions heâd wished upon his father
A family with you, something to go home to, hell, a home in general
Because heâd make it happen, now. No matter what.Â
Because that light at the end of the tunnel, that glimpse of hope in the flames heâd been burning in for so long
Made him feel alive again. You, and the little one you currently carried, were his reason to exist. Beyond his revenge, beyond the dark clouds overhead
Because he now had the privilege to be a father
To do for you and your child what his father had never bothered to do with his own familyÂ
To give to your child something heâd never received from Enji
Love.Â
After heâd finally stopped grinning
And the two of you were walking back to your apartmentÂ
He made sure that you wanted this, too
He wanted to be absolutely sure that you wanted this child
Especially if it would be with him
And dammit the smiling confirmation from you once again
Sent his heart soaring.Â
He had to stop himself from smiling too much to make sure he didnât pop his staples out.Â
He was absolutely elated
Heâd be such a great partner during the pregnancyÂ
Heâd act annoyed when you woke him up for snacks
But secretly when heâd turn over to look at you when you nudged his shoulder and quietly requested it, heâd be on cloud nine just looking at you
Because just look at youÂ
His beautiful girl, and his future beautiful girl
Because he was secretly hoping for a daughter
The least he could do was go get you your chips from seven eleven
Heâd constantly be rubbing your belly too
Like âholy shit thereâs actually a baby in there? And itâs mine?â
Like I said, cloud nine.Â
And the first kick? He was already cuddling you when it happened, so you best believe he felt it
If he could cry, he would have beenÂ
Because that little kick cemented the entire thing for him
Like, this was it. This was gonna be the best thing in his life
And heâd be damned if he wasnât gonna be there for every second of it with you.Â
So he decided taking revenge could wait
Because he was a father now, and had better priorities
This is one of my favorite songs and it reminds me of Touya often, but I found it through my favorite Attack on Titan animatic (here but spoiler warning if you havenât finished the show), and the LYRICSSS đđ

New fucked 3am idea.
Yandere Todoroki Family x youngest Fem Todoroki reader or oc whatever.
Warning Incest and Platonic Yanderes present.
Firstly, Y/N or Yen was born 8 months after Shoto. And she also has the half cold half hot quirk. [Because I'm so creative right @@]
anyway...
Because Shoto existed and was male, Enji didn't pay anymore attention to her than he did any of his other non-shoto kids. That was until one night at dinner when Yen called Toya Daddy. After this, Enji cared. But like Too Fucking much. He became super protective and overbearing. And rest in peace, Toya and Rei [not literally doe] that night because guess who was getting punished for Yen's mistake. And when Yen started growing into her body, things went from bad to worse for her as Enji's overprotective and overbearing became covertly perverse. Bathing with Yen choosing what she wears. When Rei confronted him about this... she was punished for even thinking it was possible. Enji isn't stupid or delusional, though he knows doing anything directly to her would be wrong, so he doesn't, but he does fantasize.
Rei's relationship with Yen is complicated at best. She is Platonic Yandere for her absolutely. She doesn't let Yen learn how to use her quirk because it could harm her. [Enji support this decision] However, most of Rei's punishments once Enji cared about Yen are Yens fault. Yen made a new friend Rei was getting punished. She kinda has been sneakily feeding Yen herbal anti-quirk remedies. [Enji didn't notice this one, though.. just assuming her weakness comes from the lack of training with her quirk.] She knows about Enji's feelings, having heard him moan their daughters name while he yanks it. But she's too afraid to say anything, thinking he might act on his feelings if anyone knew about them.
Dabi / Toya has the second most fucked relationship with Yen. As said before, Yen saw him as her father figure even though they were only 11 years apart. He sympathizes with her the most she was what father wanted but still wasn't enough. She was only 2 when he ran off, but he was still uncomfortably attached to her. Outsiders who would see photos of the two together would always raise an eyebrow. Why is his hand there as he's holding her up. After he woke up from his coma, he became more stalkery towards his family as a whole, but his sister was the most of all. He even became her only friend [Much to Rei's dismay.] in the form of a pin pal. He absolutely never ever put her in any danger. Ever. Even if it would hurt Enji the most, he couldn't handle that. When he blew the whistle on his abusive family, he pointed out the pedophic incestuous relationship his dad has with Yen. He even accused his mom of knowing and supporting his vulgarities to lessen her own abuse. [This was Rei's biggest fear]
Fuyumi isn't Yandere, not even Platonic yandere. She's just obvious. 100% obvious to her only sisters suffering. She knows dad is more protective of her, but she doesn't see the incest. Or the yandere. She also downplays alot of the abuse. But that's with all of the abuse. Not just Yens.
Natsuo is a Platonic yandere who actually has Yens happiness and health in mind incomparasson to the rest of his yandere family members who are all selfish to some extent. And he is, too. To some extent. [ You'll see in a bit.] He is the only one who is fully aware of all of his families yandereness. When the video came out his response was 'pot calling the kettle big brother what the fuck.' He knows that his mom is poisoning Yen but he doesn't know how and what to do about it. But he knows it's happening. He also knows about Shotos' actions and was very very very supportive of him going off to school and leaving. He regularly invites Yen to play games in his room until she falls asleep and he let's her sleep in his room. He does this to protect her from Shoto.
Last but certainly not least Shoto. He has a love-hate relationship with Yen except with yandere and incest. He is the only one who is physical with her, which is awful but good because at least only one of them is. He and her went through puberty around the same time, so he experimented on her often. Due to them having the same quirk, sometimes he reflects on her, and when he's having a bad day with his quirk, he punishes her for it. He is the only one who actually spanks Yen, but it is never when she needs it. Only when he decided she needed it.
Other things that happened in this au.
When the video came out, instead of bringing everyone together, it did the opposite. Rei being fearful of her youngest daughters virginity [she doesn't have because Shoto. But Rei doesn't know that] tries to run away with Yen. She doesn't get to far because Natsuo who knows about everything and is like 'um no fuck that. you've been poisoning her somehow. You can't be trusted either, and so he takes his baby sister from his mom.
Rei demands a divorce, and she is granted one once the video is released. Enji falls into an intense depression because of his wife leaving and taking his baby girl. And now the world knows about his darkest secret, and no one is supporting him. And because no one in this UN has a PR person, all are under the impression he is a child predator, which he kinda is if your his daughter [which you are oof.] Once the divorce goes through Natsuo takes his mom to court to demand custody of Yen because the poisoning... while all this is happening, Dabi has been secretly planning on kidnapping Yen.
Dabi has a Daddy kink for Yen. So does Enji, but ironically, she never calls him daddy only ever Enji or 'dever.
... there is the 3am Idea. Watch me regret posting this when I wake up for work tomorrow.

The Stationary Trio AU: I feel like Fuyumi was a bit all over the place in this AU in the asks.
So!
The thoughs about Endeavor get louder when she watches herself and her brothers in Future Media in a panel called 'Breaking the Cycle'. She has a wedding ring, she notes and panics a bit, before remembering the name of the panel.
(It's not a match made by her father. In the Teachers Lounge at her school, Fuyumi cries.)
A talk with Natsuo makes her get therapy. She begins moving on. Moves out of her fathers house, with an excuse of wanting to be closer to work.
At an open classroom day for Class A, she meets Shuichi, Nedzu's newest assistant, and after a few days of texting, go on a date.
(It's pretty obvious to everyone it's serious.)
Then Dabi is caught and reveals he's Touya, four years after Shouto graduates, and a year after she marries.
He's chosen to have his timeline rewound, and she volunteers to take him in.
Natsuo's words, about her letting Endeavor train Touya again, burn. Would she? She doesn't know... She hadn't talked to the man since Shouto graduated U.A., but if he insisted... If she fell back on bad habits...
(It turns out it's a good thing that she can't take him in. A month later she goes to the doctor and discovers she's pregnant. Shuichi faints at the news.)
She... panics. Absolutely. She's usually found avidly reading parenting books, and doesn't miss a single parenting class, her husband right behind her, understanding her feelings about the situation.
Her breakdown happens at home after they bring their daughter home, because her heart is full of love and she doesn't understand how her father could have looked at any of them and not want to protect against anything.
When Endeavor calls after he's informed of her child, she picks up for the first time in years and lets him have it.
Yeah no this is totally true. This is how it happens.
Fuyumi is... she's complicated. She was the Golden Child/Boat Steadier/Parentified Sibling. She has COMPLICATED emotions about her family, and they only get worse as time goes on because she is struggling so much to accept it.
But seeine the future helps. Meeting Shuichi helps. Working through her issues boosts her up.
Realizing she can't say she would keep Endeavour from Touya breaks her in a way she can't explain. It just breaks her.
And then her kidsâbeautiful kidsâand she finally realizes that Endeavour's actions were wrong. She knew before and now...
The swearing, threat-filled speech at Enji is hard, but she does it with bared teeth.
Fuck you, she thinks. Fuck you Todoroki Enji.
You didn't break any of us.

pleaseee rant about fuyumi and enji's relationship sometime. they are so important in my heart and i ONLY want to hear it from u bc your takes on enji. genuine breath of fresh air i mean it. I LOVE HIM + HIS HORRIBLE COMPLEXITY IM TIRED OF PRETENDING I DONT. i trust ur mind so much i would love to hear ur thoughts on them. đđ
anon i have no idea who you are but i adore you and will happily oblige
first and foremost letâs acknowledge that fuyumi is the only female child of four, and once her mother is out of the house and their caretaker is retired, sheâs the only girl (and later woman) in the house at all. itâs stated in canon that she did all the cooking for natsuo after this, but that shouto (and presumably enji?) was not present to partake. what this implies is that fuyumi took on the motherly role once rei was gone: a very common experience for daughters of any age.
immediately, this makes their relationship complex. neglect aside, being forced into a parental role as a child is incredibly taxing, and we see evidence of how itâs affected fuyumi by her behavior in season five (intense people pleasing, desperation for everyone to get along, stress and anxiety when they donât, etc). i do believe that she genuinely loves her father, but i also am sure that part of that love is fear. at such a young age (12) she lost both her older brother and her mother, barely knew her baby brother, and quickly had to play mom for her younger. if anything, this poor girl was terrified that sheâd lose the others, too.
hereâs where i want to note something that i think 98% of the fandom will disagree with me on: sending rei to a mental hospital was NOT the hellish abusive act everyone seems to think it is??? like dude. her baby just fucking died. her eldest child died (and she couldnât stop it) and all they have left of him is a piece of his jaw. she broke. she hurt a five-year-old boy. if enji hadnât sent her away, what else might she have done??? hurt the others? killed herself? dude. she was lost in her grief and needed help. thatâs why he sent her awayâit just comes off differently because we only learn about it from 5yo shoutoâs perspective, and that kid was biased as fuck.
(also, thereâs a panel or two somewhere of enji standing with flowers presumably at the hospital, and we know rei had flowers in her room. i am of the belief that he hand-delivered them (but couldnât see her for obvious reasons) to ensure they were received because you know what? that man loves his family and his wife and he regrets everything he did. deal with it.)
(and i know nobody wants to hear this but rei loves him too. Deal With It.)
but i digress. letâs go back to fuyumi.
as the eldest daughter and pseudo-mother in her family, she also bears the brunt of everyoneâs emotions. that is⌠just what happens. i donât think anyone will deny that. women (especially in a traditional household like the todorokis) are emotional laborers and put in a position to be responsible for everyoneâs peace. itâs exhausting, but itâs also the only thing fuyumi really has left if she wants to keep her family. and she does, obviously. theyâre all she has. (this is something else that happens when you lose siblings or parents at such a young age, or when thereâs a lot of conflict in the home. you just want to have a family. you want everyone to be happy. i personally have a very intimate understanding of how desperately fuyumi just wants her family back. that feeling never goes away.)
we donât get a lot of information on what happens during the decade of shoutoâs life from five to fifteen, which means we donât get a lot on the rest of the family, either. rei has been in the hospital, natsuo has grown up and started at college, fuyumi has become a teacher and maintained her parental role, and enji has continued his career. we donât know what the house looked like during this time and a lot of people have a lot of theories, but⌠hm. i donât know. i think itâs hard to say. given the flowers for rei (and his arc throughout canon), i do think enji had to have made some changes during this time. but itâs hard to say how and how much and what impact it had. we know shouto was still pretty isolated throughout this, so⌠maybe not much. certainly not enough.
even so, it seems apparent that he and fuyumi have had a relationship throughout all of this. again, she has a tendency to people-please, and she loves her father, and her father (who again lost his eldest son and has only a fragment of his jaw bone) is a broken man. comforting him is only natural. itâs practically her responsibility (in feeling, not in fact). and enji, of course, because he has no other support network, relies on his daughter. he depends on her as men often depend on women (and obviously realizes his wrongdoing in this, as itâs part of his apology in season seven).
if you ask me, pre-war arc, i think their relationship is the most loving out of anyone in the family. itâs not healthy, not yet, but it can be made healthy much easier than the others can, and i think fuyumi is more willing to forgive him than anyone else. because the thing isâfuyumi is willing to acknowledge her fatherâs humanity.
i think this is one of the things that frustrates me most about the fandomâs response to enji. i understand where it comes from, of course, and iâm not saying he is by any means innocent. but there comes a point where you have to put your own biases aside and acknowledge a characterâs humanity. it infuriates me to no end that this fandom will redeem the entire league of villains but cast endeavor aside and damn him for all eternity. i know why, again (because in fiction abuse is always worse than murder), but i donât care. if a character has the capacity for repentance then they have the capacity for redemption.
i also never understand the difference between redemption and atonement because to me theyâre the same thing, and enji is a prime example of it. he knows what he did wrong. he knows he canât undo it. he wonât try to. all he can do (and what he Does do) is be better. how can anyone ask him of anything more. how DARE anyone ask him of anything more. heâs a mortal man, not God. thatâs the entire point of the portrayal of MHAâs top heroes: they are not invincible deities. theyâre human. theyâre going to fail. and fail. and fail. and fail. but what makes them different from everybody else? they want to be good. they want to help others. theyâre trying. they may fall and slip up and it may not all go according to plan, but damn it if they arenât trying.
beyond everyone else, i believe fuyumi understands this. her father is not, can not, and will not ever be perfect. but heâs trying. she knows how human he is, firsthand. how can she ask him for more than the effort heâs given? this is already so much better than how things were before. and she loves him. and he loves her. sheâll wait as long as it takes for him to grow.
here i must note (as always) that i havenât read the manga. i do not know how it ends. any time i see content about the todoroki familyâs ending, i skim or scroll past to avoid spoiling myself. everything i say is based on my understanding of canon and of the characters and information we are given, and everything that follows this is purely how i plan to write the todoroki family in some future fic where i actually address all of this and force people to like enji.
i donât know how any of their stories end, but i believe fuyumi keeps in touch with her father. visits. has family dinner when possible (minus natsuo, or scheduled so natsuo and enji can arrive at different times and avoid each other). she still visits her mother and her brothers. she loves all of them as much as she always has. enji doesnât force anyone to keep in touch (and given his injuries i doubt he could even if he wanted to, but even if we diverge post-season six as i tend to do, he still wouldnât try to keep anyone who doesnât want to stay. i mean he built them a whole separate house. does the fandom just forget that) but they love each other, for sure. heâs proud of her. proud of all his kids really. not so much of himself. but he loves them so much more than he will ever be able to express. and fuyumi has grown into such an amazing young woman. i think he admires her more than she knows.
what really gets to me about the todoroki family and everyoneâs misinterpretations of it is the amount of love in their household. so many people write it and thereâs no love in sight, but thatâs an immediate indicator that they donât understand. because hereâs the thingâthat entire family is built on love and all the ways it goes wrong. there is so much love there it makes me sick. but none of them have any clue how to express itâand thatâs the real tragedy of the todorokis. theyâre all fated to get it wrong.
(âkats their marriage was arranged wtf do you mean enji and rei love each otherâ dude thatâs the entire point. the fandom does rei a MASSIVE disservice by taking away her agency in that choice. she Knew what she was getting into and she Chose him. do NOT downplay this womanâs decision for the sake of shoving her into your helpless female victim battered wife box. fuck you. their marriage was arranged, but she agreed to it, and as stated, she was cold to him at first. but she opened up, they got to know each other, and damn you if you think they didnât love one another then. they built that love brick by brick. how dare you suggest otherwise.)
iâm really beginning to go on some tangents here, so i think this is where i close. but the point that iâm trying to make overall is that there is so much love in that family and no capacity to express it. but i think enji and fuyumi try. iâm certain they figure out proper boundaries someday and he doesnât put so much on her. iâm certain she still visits and iâm certain she forgives him. iâm certain he has a hard time believing that when she tells him, but that he swallows his doubt and thanks her anyway. he really is so proud.
thank you anon for this ask. it was a delight to wake up to and write out at the start of my day. i love talking about the todoroki family (iâm very passionate if you canât tell) and if you ever have anything else you want to hear donât be afraid to send another :)) iâm always happy to share my thoughts.

heyyy i just wanna say i loved the incest sukuna fic so much, itâs like you took the idea of my head !! imagine my happy surprise when i saw that youâre an endeavor writer too ??? BCS I AM TOO đ¤Šđ¤Š hello twin ~~
so like, did little miss ryomen become with child ?? did she bear twin sons ? one for each of his sireâs cock ?? đŤŁđ¤ i can see her demon sire getting hard as a rod watching her birth their son(s) đŤŁ
i loved the detailed talk about the blood and stuff !! amazing amazing work đđ
omg first of all thank you so much honey!!!! i'm so incredibly happy that somebody is matching my freak right now :3Â
second of all yes i LOVEEEE writing for endeavor. enji is such a versatile character because you can make him sweet and reformed or horrible and evil; i adoreeee both sides of him.Â
and yes, she most definitely did get pregnant. her father moved her into his personal quarters the second her pregnancy started showing. perhaps an additional fuck here and there to really really be sure, you know?Â
i can't see two sons for her, unfortunately. she's such a little thing, hardly able to take sukuna's cock, let alone TWO of his children at the same time. by the time her pregnancy is in full swing, she looks like she's about to have triplets. damn sukuna and his size. surely any baby of his would be larger than life.
but, she will successfully have one. and he will be absolutely perfect. perhaps, just maybe, when the birth has finished and uraume offers the infant out to sukuna to hold...
just maybe, he'll oblige and hold the little bugger. maybe he'll look into the small eyes, strikingly similar to his own, and he'll see promise. maybe he'll twirl a finger through the fluffy pink hair atop the child's head.Â
and maybe, just maybe, he'll tell his daughter exactly what she's been dying to hear from him her whole life.
"you've done well today, woman."

i always loved the Geten Himura reveal and blurb of backstory because it really rounded out the world of bnha. imo. It was a relatively tiny detail, but it showed that problems were deeper and more complex than just Bad Man, because many things were interconnected, and how tragedies can occur due to those chains of intersections.
Like, the fact that the Himura were traditional wealthy landowners was significant, because it meant they were the exact sort of old-money conservative douchebags that would hate change, that would marry cousins to keep their bloodline pure, that would raise children with the expectations to sell them off in arranged marriages. And because they were an old landowning clan, they would've had influence over local village politics - so is it any surprise that villages would be awful towards heteromorphs, when the village leaders or elites were people who rather marry their cousins than 'taint' their bloodline with outsiders and possibly have a kid with a heteromorphic quirk?
It meant Rei was always prepared to not marry for love, but be married to someone rich, and stay in that marriage no matter what, for the sake of her family. I don't know how low the Himura fell, but given that they're a big landowning family, they probably weren't 'starving in the streets' poor and in need of cash for survival, but rather didn't have the money to support their previously comfortable lifestyle. Rei kept in contact with her mom, but the mom could offer no support when Enji turned abusive - whether it was because the mom was also trained to be a traditional housewife and thought this was all normal, or because the mom needed the daughter to keep up a lifestyle, it's all fucked up. And plus, the marriage broker in Chapter 301 also mentioned "Himura women" like there's bunch, and there probably were - Rei's sisters or cousins also getting married off for money, also stuck in this clan-obligation-duty-dysfunction-web.
Enji was the asshole Rei ended up marrying, and everything that happened is his fault, but there very much could've been five other wealthy assholes that her parents had lined up for her to meet. In fact, Enji could've been a particularly useful idiot for the Himura - at the time, Enji was only 21, 22 years old, only having reached the age of majority the year or two before; his father was dead, so he's the head of his household, so they don't have to worry about pesky in-laws; he was probably nouveau riche from his Hero career, so he had no idea of old clan politics; he wanted a quirk marriage, which fit perfectly with their blood purity ideology; and he wanted a kid immediately, sealing the deal. Enji's selfishness matched beautifully with Himura's own messed up issues.
And so the problem isn't just Enji, and it didn't affect just Rei, it's a whole thing. And I so always thought this reveal added so much to the landscape of HeroAcaWorld, where quirks didn't only brought new problems, but exacerbated old prejudices and inequalities, entrenching them even further into the fabric of society. And it would've been fascinating to see how Heroes would have to deal with that.
#but instead it's just one or two Bad Man#and above all an supernaturally evil baby#nalslastworkingbraincell

Hi this is my first time doing this but I was wondering if you could write endeavour reacting to like a reader who has piercings like a belly piercing or like loads of ear piercings x
Hi, Thanks, I love this idea! I will certainly write something for this, Iâm just slow writing (as usual) đ
Sorry this has taken so long, the more I thought about it I think Enji would have a kind of old fashioned view on piercings and tattoos to begin with but I think he'd definitely warm to the idea, while still being something of a grumpy old man!
"No, I don't not like them, I just don't understand why?" Enji punctuated his sentence with couple of grunts as you tried to explain.
You had to admit, you kind of liked him all riled up like this.
"It's just a piercing... well a few piercings." You corrected yourself, tucking your hair behind your ear so he could get a better look at one of the several you'd had since you last saw him.
He folded his arms across his chest. Regarding you with a knowing look that said, we both know there's more useful things that you actually need that you should have spent your money on.
"I know, I know." You waved your hands dismissively, "But Enji, don't you think they're cute?!"
He shook his head, smiling at your enthusiasm and the light of excitement in your eyes.
"Well, as long you're happy." He sighed. "I just⌠don't think I'd want you to end up like Touya." He replied, trying to bridge the gap of understanding.
You laughed. "I don't think that's likely, do you?"
He grunted again, unsure if you would and slightly horrified at the image in his head he'd conjured of Touya's piercings on your pretty face. Sure, you'd look edgy, but, honestly, he liked you just the way you were.
The light of the Autumn sun through the window made the rings sparkle and as much as he disliked to admit, of course, it did look very cute, it highlighted the shine in your eyes. The tiny decorations of stones and metal that ran all the way down your ear, and the studs that peaked teasingly every so often when your shirt rode up. But it was just so unnecessary.
He kicked himself, remembering when Touya had helped Fuyumi put stickers all over her arms at Christmas and they'd both run around the house shouting "Lookout we're the Yakuza". He remembered his amusement at the horror on Rei's face when she'd thought that her daughter might actually consider a tattoo. Of course, she never had, or at least, come to think of it, not that he knew of.
Perhaps he was being old fashioned, he'd been raised in a world where things like piercings were considered vain, rather than an outlet of self expression and creativity. Times were changing and girls would be girls wouldn't they? If it was something cute and sparkly, who was he to say you shouldn't have it, anyway it's not like you didn't deserve so much more.
His face briefly unstiffened and he looked you in the eye, opening his mouth.
"I was thinking of getting my tongue done next." You replied before he could speak, half jokingly, sticking out your tongue so he could imagine it.
Which he did⌠vividly. He turned redder than his hair trying to put the image out of his mind and maintain his stoic demeanor.
"You won't." His voice cracked a little playfully, half daring you.
"I will or would you stop me⌠Mr number one hero?"
He grinned, defenceless, he liked it when you stood up to him. Most people wouldn't even try, especially when he gave that dark look, as though he would turn someone to ash in a moments notice. But really, you knew he was a more bark than bite.
"I can certainly try. Anyway," he began, taking his wallet from the table, handing you your coat and grabbing his own in one efficient sweep. "what do you want for dinner? I suppose it's on me."

Part of Your World
I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
And it's hey to the starboard, heave-ho
Look out, lad, a mermaid be waiting for you
In mysterious fathoms below
Fathoms below, below
From whence wayward westerlies blow
Where Triton is king, and his merpeople sing
In mysterious fathoms below
"Ah, this feels nice after a long, stuffy day," Prince Izuku said, feeling the wind. "And the sun makes things so much more lighter. Don't ya think?"
"To damn bright for me," Katsuki groaned. "Why do we have to sail this early in the morning?"
"It's not that early, and besides, I like sailing the ship this early in the morning?"
"And hear these pruds ramble about mermaids?"
"It's a sea shanty, Kachan," Izuku corrected. "It's just how they pass the time during long days of sailing. Mermaids are just simply part of the song."
"Ugh, when we both spoke about being pirates, I don't think this is what I meant." Katsuki muttered to himself.
"You mean you being captain? Sorry, Kachan, but Captain Might gave this one to me as an early birthday gift." Izuku explained while teasing. "Come on, we should be able to celebrate it, even just for a little while."
"But this is a decoy.."
"I don't get his real one until I am 21," Izuku chuckled. "He said this could help me for future sailing."
Katsuki rolled his eyes as Izuku climbed onto the rope, looking out onto the sea with a goofy smile. Katsuki can't believe these two were supposed to get wed in the following days, but what can he do?
đ
Heave-ho
Heave-ho
Heave-ho, heave-ho, heave-ho
In mysterious fathoms below
đ
Katsuki groaned and bumped into a sailor, resulting in him dropping his smoking pipe down into the sea.
The pipe slowly drifted into the sea and landed between two coral reefs. But a pair of hands took it away, and his red and white blotched tail swam away, looking at the newly acquired item in his hands.
đ
"Where is he?!" Screamed the King.
"W-we don't know your majesty," stammered a royal guard. "We haven't seen him after his training."
"What?!" Enji called out. "You mean you lost track of my son!"
"We didn't mean to!" Gulped the other royal guard.
Enji growled, glaring at the guards, aiming his trident at the two. But before he can incinerate them, a trumpet is heard from the entrance.
"Your Majesty, Lord Kouki, and his lovely daughter, Lady Momo, have arrived."
Enji groaned and sat down on his throne. "Send them in."
The guards scurried away now that Enji's attention was on Lord Kouki. The man whose daughter was bethroed to Prince Shoto, but with such bad luck, the prince was nowhere to be found.
"How embarrassing," Enji groaned. "To think I taught my youngest son some manners. Where is that damned boy?!"
đ
Shoto looked around as he entered a nearby ship, hoping for peace. Or, well, look for human stuff.
It was something that he had done for such a long time. How he managed to keep this from his father is a mystery, even to Shoto, but he has a nice collection he is willing to keep. No matter what happens to him.
So, his entering sunken ships that his father had purposely sabotaged made sense. It was a hunting ground for human stuff, and Shoto was willing to learn and collect in any way he could. There was an object that he recently found. It was an odd silver-like object that looked like a mini trident but probably had no magic like one, but it still captured Shoto's eye nonetheless.
"It's so small," he whispered to himself. "Like Father's Trident, but maybe not as magical as his and maybe less dangerous as well."
Shoto sighs as he swims lower, hoping to see any other items before returning home. He often ignores the looks of deep water fish as he continues to explore, as they fear his father, knowing if they try to harm him, it will be their last.
Shoto decided to swim inside one of the sunken ships, picked new human stuff, and saw a reflection of himself. It was unusual to see a reflection this deep beneath the sea, and Shoto liked it despite not knowing why humans needed such a thing.
But it wasn't long before a growl of a shark caught his attention and lunged towards the prince at such speed that it broke the mirror, and blood slowly drifted above them. Shoto didn't have the time to think about what just happened as he swam away in an attempt to escape, but he could hear the growls and chomps of the shark behind him, relentless and ready to eat.
But it wasn't Shoto's first encounter with an aggressive and hungry shark. He knew how to deal with rouge-aggressive animals, as it was part of the harsh training he endured. So he found a nearby broken wooden log and cut it down to trap the shark underneath it.
Shoto panted to himself as he swam higher, seeing the light shining past the sea.
He had a friend to meet, after all.
"Denki!" called Shoto as he rose to the surface, looking around.
The Seagull gasped in shock as he grabbed a telescope to see Shoto. "Oh! Merman at the port! Merman at the port!"
Shoto rolls his eyes and swims forward, surprising the Seagull when he takes the telescope away from his face.
"Wowza! You mermaids know how to swim fast, huh?" Denki laughed. "Well, whatcha got for me today? You know I am here for any human discoveries."
"Yes, I have collected a lot of them this time," Shoto explained.
Denki hummed and rummaged his hands into Shoto's bag, taking out the miniature trident. "Oh, this, this I know very well."
"What is it?" Shoto asked, lifting himself.
"These are called Dinglehoppers," laughed Denki. "This is how humans manage to have pitch perfect hair, with no complications! Like so!"
Shoto watched as Denki used the newly discovered Dinglehopper on his feathers, creating a puffed-up hairdo. He laughed as Denki examined himself, smiling.
"You look nice."
"Why, thank you." Denki beamed. "What else do you have for me?"
"This odd looking intrusment." Shoto answered, giving it to Denki.
"Oh, a Snarfblatt!" Denki called out. "It's a small intrument, and once you take a blow, you can hear beautiful music!"
Denki blew into it, and seaweed and sand blew out.
"Eh, it still needs to be cleaned before use." Denki chuckled, giving it back to Shoto. "Great for marriage, don't you think?"
Shoto's eyes widen at the mention of marriage. "Oh no. I was suppose to meet up with my fiance today!"
"Oh really? Do you want to get the snarfblat?" Denki asked.
"No, but thanks you, Denki." Shoto sighed and grabbed his stuff. "I'll see you soon!"
Shoto sank down and started to swim as fast as he could toward his kingdom, knowing he could be in trouble for being so late. How could he forget such a thing? Marriage was such an essential thing for the kingdom that it was surprising that Shoto forgot.
As Shoto rushed towards his kingdom, he was unaware he was being watched.
đ
"Go, go, young one," laughed a man from the shadow, watching Shoto swim away. "Go run to your father, young Shoto. Return to the wretched man you call a king and, even worse, a father."
The Merman laughed as he grabbed his bubble. "Oh, look at you. Growing up to be such a fine young boy. I'm not surprised. He wouldn't let his favorite little prince become a monster like me."
The Merman's cyan eyes glared at his bubble, almost ready to pop it. But he backs away, looking at Shoto, hiding his stuff in his room before leaving.
"Such secrets you hide, Shoto," he laughed. "I wonder what happens if you were to made to submit? If you break? Oh, will that day be swell? My sweet little eels, I hope you can keep your eyes on him for much more. I think we have an interesting case."
đ
Shoto hid a yawn as he sat down at the dinner table, drinking some seaberry juice. He didn't want to be here, but if he missed one more dinner, who knows what would happen to him? So, he surrendered in silence and watched how Enji talked with the Lord.
Luckily for him, Fuyumi convinced his father to let this go until Kouki left. Oh, how the stars align in his favor.
"So, Shoto," started Kouki. "What plans do you have for my daughter?"
"To keep her protected and love, and give her anything she needs." Shoto answered, looking at Lord Kouki.
"I like to hear that," Kouki smiled. "I told you I find a good man for you, Momo. A man with promise."
"Surely I don't deserve all your praises," Shoto blushed. "I am still thinking about it."
"As am I," Momo admitted. "And I promise to do the same with you, Shoto."
"AH, see, this is what I like to see," Enji boasted happily. "And when should we have the wedding?"
"Hmm, perhaps this week?" Kouki suggested. "I want this over as quickly as possible."
Shoto and Momo let out a small gasp before looking at their fathers in surprise. They knew these two were about to wed but in a week? They thought they had more time before the wedding.
"Father, I think it's too soon," Momo objected. "We are not at marrying age, and I thought we agreed that it'll be a year."
"Well, that was before I chose a husband for you, my dear. And look, I have found you a husband, and I changed my mind." Kouki answered. "A week from now, we will have the royal wedding."
"But," Shoto also started to object but was shushed by Enji.
"That is a spledidi idea, Lord Kouki," Enji complimented. "I will make sure I will plan this wedding to your standards."
"I am happy that we agree."
Shoto looks over at Momo, who shares the same expression of worry.
"Toast!" Cheered Enji, lifting his cup of seaberry wine. "To the marriage to Prince Shoto and Lady Momo!"
The men toast in happiness with their children with the looks of sadness.
đ
"You have some nerve to be late to that dinner, Shoto," Enji lectured. "But since today has brightened because of the marriage, I will not punish you this time around. But mark my words, Shoto, if this happens again, the things I could do to you will be more severe."
"Yes, Father," Shoto sighed. "It won't happen again."
"What could you be possobly be doing that you got so distracted?" Enji started to question.
Shoto decided not to answer, but that was all Enji needed.
"This again, Shoto?! You and this stupid obession with human stuff! I swear everyday, you act like that nutjob of a mother! Collected human stuff!! Stuff from those horrible humans, humans that would murder our kind without a second thought! Do you know that Shoto?"
"Of course, it's all you talk about," Shoto argued. "How humans are the reason Mother went insane! I have heard it all, over and over again! But what if you are wrong?"
"We are not talking about this, Shoto," Enji hissed.
"No, since you want to start it. You can't keep blaming humans for your actions! You decided to harm them, and they barely knew we existed as a species. Can't we just leave them alone?"
"No! Why would I? They will learn never to infiltrate my seas again! Now go, you disrespectful brat!"
Shoto nods and swims away. He tried to keep his anger in check, but Enji swore he heard a small scoff when Shoto swam.
đ
The following day arrived, and Momo was ready for wedding planning, but unsurprisingly, Shoto wasn't in his room. But Enji excused it as a morning training thing, and Shoto will be back by noontime, much to Kouki's dismay. But Momo knew it was a lie, considering Enji's teeth gritted angrily.
So Momo spent her time drinking seaberry tea in the seaweed gardens; it was beautiful and made her think about some other things, but when a shadow flew over her, it caused her to look up to see Shoto swimming with a bag in his hands.
"Shoto? I thought he was training?" Pondered Momo, looking up at him. "Where is he going?"
Momo looks up at him and starts to follow Shoto against her better judgment. She knows it's wrong, but if she were to marry Shoto, she needed to take the first step into learning about her new fiance and try to understand it.
Momo watched Shoto slowly glide across the orange corals and toward the underwater revenue. Her eyes widened as she saw Shoto disappear into a small hole covered in vines.
"What is that?" She whispered to herself. "Looks quite private."
"Shoto!" called out older brother Natsou. "Ugh, I promised that man I would look after him, but once again."
"Natsou," Momo whispered, mentioning Natsou over. "Over here."
Natsou looked down and saw Momo. He looks away and swims down to her, looking at the vines. "Lady Momo, what are you doing here?"
"I saw Shoto, and he went inside that small cave," Momo whispered. "I don't know why."
Natsou looks over at the small cave entrance and looks back at Momo. "Should we find out?"
"I'm worried, so yes, please?"
Natsou nodded and carefully led her into the cavern, going through the short tunnel before light shone in, and the duo gasped as they saw the grotto walls full of human stuff, with Shoto sitting on a rock, staring at one of his items.
"Maybe he's right." Shoto sighed sadly, turning over. "Maybe there is something the matter with me."
"What?"
"I just can't see how a world filled with such wonderful things could be so bad?"
đ
Look at this stuff; isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'mâ
theâ
boy, the boyâ
who has everything?
đ
Shoto swims up, fixing his new collection, looking at his collection with a smile. He didn't notice that Momo carefully swam forward and around the collection.
đ
Look at this trove,â
treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here, you think
"Sure, he's got everything."
I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty!
But who cares? No big deal; I want more
đ
"What more could he ever wanted?" Natsou scoffed. "He already has enough because of his existence already."
"Hush," Momo shushed as she swam closer.
She watched as Shoto stared at a strange box and miniature versions of a dancing human couple with a quiet smile on his face.
đ
I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancin'
Walking around on those - what do you call 'em? Oh - feet!
Flippin' your fins, you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumping, dancing
Strolling along down a - what's that word again? Street
đ
Shoto laughs as he swims up, feeling the small sunlight on his face again. He loved it, much more the cold, dark sea, a sight that he was used to but ultimately grew tired of. It was a wish that Shoto didn't know he had until he started to ponder it, and now that he wished it, he wanted it.
đ
Up where they walk, up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free - wish I could be
Part of that world
đ
"Part of the human world?" Momo whispered to herself, slowly examining the items around him. "âŚ.is that why he was late? He was collecting these humans items?"
"But why?" Natsou questioned. "Our father forbade us to even go to the surface, and Shoto wants to disobey him?"
đ
What would I give if I could live out of these waters?
What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand?
đ
Shoto sighed as he lay down on the sand, but a huff of disgust made him turn around, pouting. The constant thought of his horrified father corrupted his mind, and he didn't even want to think about itâthe lectures, the hurtful statements, everything that made Shoto feel small.
đ
Bet'cha on land they understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women sick of swimmin'
Ready to stand
I'm ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a fire, and why does it - what's the word? Burn?
đ
Shoto looks back up and swims up to the small hole that allows any light to enter his grotto, reaching his hand out.
đ
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore up above?
đ
But it was all in vain. His hand could only feel the cold air. Empty and alone. Just like Shoto. Defeated, he slowly sank onto his rock, looking back at it again.
đ
Out of the sea, wish I could be part of that world
đ
Shoto lays down and closes his eyes. He wanted to imagine being with the humans, but a small shadow interrupted his daydream, and as he opened his eyes, Shoto saw an angry Natsou looking at him in disapproval.
"Natsou?" Shoto gasped as he raised himself up. "How did you find me?"
"You can thank your fiancĂŠ for that," Natsou answered.
"I'm sorry," Momo shrank to herself. "I saw you, and I wanted to follow. Just for us to chat and then I found this place and I just somewhat brought Natsou along."
"You brought him along?"
"And is that a problem, Shoto?"
"Yes," Shoto answered. "You guys wouldn't understand what's going on with my mind. And sure, I never told you because you would try to make it about yourself."
"No, I wouldn't." Natsou huffed.
Shoto rolled his eyes. "Just don't tell anyone. Not even Fuyumi."
"But you know she has been covering for you, and she doesn't even know you are doing this." Natsou pointed out.
"But I can't. Fuyumi may have my back, but father knows how to make her speak too," Shoto reminded. "I don't want to bring her into this entire mess of mine. If Father finds out, I would rather have it just me have the fall out of it."
"You are sweet," Momo grinned. "Don't worry, Shoto, I'll be making sure that I will keep your secret."
"âŚFine, I'll try to," Natsou conceded. "Let's just go home before Father throws one of his little tantrums."
"I need to clean this up first," Shoto mentioned, looking at some of the items on the floor. "I want this to look clean."
"Right now? It's not like no one is going to see it," Natsou scoffed.
Shoto ignored his older brother and started to clean up his grotto, making sure everything was in place. During the quick clean-up, Shoto heard a muffled boom sound, but the sound created colorful lights that he had never seen before. As he watched, more colorful lights were combined with the booms, and Shoto couldn't help himself.
"What to check that out?" Shoto asked.
"Right now? You are joking, right?"
"Why not?" Shoto asked. "It will only for a few minutes, Natsou."
"But we need to go," Natsou reminded. "Father will flip on us if we don't come back!"
"My father will be worried for me as well," Momo added. "I can't disobey him like you can."
Shoto rolled his eyes. "Fine, but I'm going."
Shoto flicked his tail and started to swim higher, ignoring Natsou and Momo's calls and cries. Shoto listened to the booms that called his name. It was his time, and he would finally reach his hand to feel the nice human air again.

Everything eventually comes together - Endhawks Angst
Enji lied in his bed. He was in his own house, the one that he rarely left in those days. After all, he was stuck on a wheelchair.
The rain beat steadily on the window next to him. The water drops were dense and fast, just like that day. The day Endeavor died. The man that lied on the bed that day was nothing else that his empty broken shell. Enji thought he lost everything that day. Maybe he never had anything to begin with. His family, what he discovered too late to be what was most precious to him ended up despising him and turning away from him. Enji tried everything to make amends, but he soon learnt that nothing could take away his wrong doings and the impact they had on his family. Rei had been living in a mental hospital for the past ten years. Natsuo decided to leave his family behind. Fuyumi lost her job as a teacher and too much time trying to organize family reunion the others probably didnât want to show up to. Shoto⌠his youngest son was trying to recover from the emotional damage he endured all his life. Touya⌠he died a few weeks prior. Enji was the only one there when it happened. While his eldest sonâs heart rate slowed down, his father kept apologizing and repeating how much he loved him, till it stopped beating. Touyaâs last words were hunting him at night, whenever he was alone or closed his eyes: âI wanted to go back home⌠to my familyâ.
Despite everything he did, everything he said, his son loved him. Behind Dabiâs hate there was a son that wanted to be seen and loved like he should have been. Enji knew that every of his attempts were never enough to pay off his debt. His physical conditions, his family turning away from him to live their own lives and his reputation being ruined were not hard enough punishments for the pain he caused. Maybe he would have paid in his next life too. What miserable existence his was: hurting others only to be hurt back.
Staring at his window, he thought about his past days as a hero: how glorious he was on the outside. His body was still holding strong and, despite how miserable he felt on the inside, his job of protecting the citizens, was what kept him going. It was just a few weeks ago, but still it felt so far away. Now, he couldnât walk on his own, had a prosthetic arm and his face was even more scarred. He thought about the last time he showed up to the public, during the war. After that, he only released a discreet interview on his retirement. He thanked his fans, apologized for his mistakes and asked to be left alone until his image faded, knowing that people would eventually forget about him.
Two knocks on his door, before Fuyumi opened it. Enji quickly brushed off his tears.
âDad, I cooked your favourite for lunch!â
He turned to face his only daughter. Her hair was now short, some of it got burnt off during the battle against Touya. She was always the one who took care of her father, cooking for him and helping him move.
âthank you, Fuyumiâ he said in a low voice (what was the last time he spoke out loud?). Instead he wanted to tell her to stop taking care of him, her old father, and go live her life, but didnât know how to. Fuyumi wouldnât understand and his request for her to abandon him and it would have only made her cry. Now she was smiling, smiling through the pain. She was also mourning the death of Touya, maybe seeing his fatherâs depressed face made her remember about her loss. So Enji forced a smile, caressing her daughterâs face with his hand when she left his lunch on the bedside table.
âhave you eaten, Fuyumi?â he asked her.
Fuyumi smiled like she always did, grabbing his fatherâs hand on her cheek.
âI had a quick lunch before cooking for you. It took me a lot to make, so eat it all!â
His daughterâs genuine ways made his heart feel a bit warmer. Fuyumi qualified for a smart working job, even though she still loved to be a teacher, only to assist her father.
âI willâ he said to her, letting go of her face, âgo back to work now, donât you worry about meâ
âok, but call me if you need anything, dad! Donât forget that tonight we have to watch that movie that just came out!â
He looked at her as she got out the room. Enji ate his lunch alone.
Enji thought about taking away his own life. Maybe in that way he could free his family from the weight of taking care of an ill father. Fuyumi helped him in everything simple he couldnât do anymore, like getting up from the bed or cooking. Rei sometimes came to visit him and to take him outside for a stroll. Shoto came every weekend to tell him all about UA, asking him for advices. Natsuo never came.
Two knocks on the door before it opened again a few hours later.
âdad, you have visits!â Fuyumiâs sweet voice said.
Who could have been? He wasnât waiting for anybody.
âItâs Hawks, can I let him in?â
Oh⌠itâs him.
Enji nodded.
âof course I can go inâ Hawks said in his usual ironic tone, before entering the room. Fuyumi left them alone, closing the door of Enjiâs bedroom. Keigo was wearing a suit, like he always did at work. Now that was an admirable man: Hawks overcame his pains and emerged as a winner. He lost his quirk, but now was the president of the HPSC, to make every heroâs life better. He was a light able to guide other, as bright as the sun.
âhow are you doing, Endeavor?â he said as he sat on a chair next to Enjiâs bed. He was right in front of the window. His bright smile was covering the darkness of the view outside.
âwhat are you doing here? Arenât you supposed to be working now?â
âI had some free time, so I thought about visiting youâ he said, like it was the most normal thing in this world. Keigo and Enji found themselves texting each other every day after the war, talking about their daily lives. It was weird at first: Enji was used to texting Hawks, but only regarding work matters. Now, they even found themselves sharing their thoughts and how they felt. He soon noticed that Hawks was constantly checking on him. Even if he wasnât a hero anymore, Keigo still had almost no free time, so he only visited whenever he could.
âyou could have sent a message to inform me about itâ
âit was a last minute decisionâ said Hawks shrugging, âYou havenât answered my question, thoughâ
Enji paused for a second, avoiding the otherâs inquisitor eyes: âIâm⌠okâ
âFuyumi seems to be doing betterâ Keigo continued, crossing his legs, âher smiles look more genuine nowâ
âeveryone needs their own time to mourn. Fuyumi has always had a positive attitude towards life, always trying to be grateful for what she hasâ
Hawks smiled: âwhat about the divorce?â
âthe papers are ready, we just have to sign them. Rei agreed that even after the divorce, weâre still family. This makes things easierâ
âthatâs good to hear! Rei cares about this family as much as you do. And howâs Shoto holding up?â
âheâs also doing better, since he came back to UA. Heâs constantly surrounded by his friends and away from this homeâ Enji sighed, âitâs good for him to focus on his studies for nowâ
The blonde nodded. âIâm going to UA tomorrow, I need to talk business with the principal. If you want me to ask Shoto anythingâŚâ
âitâs fine. He calls regularlyâ
âWhat about Natsuo? I havenât seen him in a whileâ
At the mention of his name, Enji felt his heart ache again: âI donât know. He never comes nor callsâ
Hawks furrowed his brows: âhow so?â
âI last saw him months ago, when we first went to visit Touya after the war. He said he would start a family on his own, away from usâ pain filled Enjiâs voice. He was feeling like he lost another son. He would have never told him to reconsider his decision, he had no say in that. Still, it hurt like hell.
âitâs a delusion, but a thought that maybe even after Touyaâs death we could start again together. As the family we never wereâ Enjiâs utopic dream was to be able to grab all the pieces left of their shattered family, trying to rebuild what he broke years ago. He soon realized that was impossible.
Hearing Enjiâs words, Keigoâs heart shattered. It wasnât usual for him to open up, but when he did, the most precious and fragile thoughts came out. His dream was so⌠admirable, yet it looked like it only made him suffer more.
âIâd do anything to know how Natsuo is doing, yet I would never ask. He doesnât need a father like me in his lifeâ
Hawks was left speechless. Even after one full hour of casual conversation with Enji, his words were still ringing in his mind.
He doesnât need a father like me in his lifeâŚ
That wasnât true. If Keigoâs father ever apologized to him and did everything Enji did to remedy his mistakes, he would have run towards him to try and fix their relationship. That thought filled him with a weird boiling rage.
Just before leaving the Todoroki house, he stopped Fuyumi on the door threshold.
âdo you perhaps know where Nastuo is living?â
Fuyumi looked around, uneasy: âI do, but⌠he told me not to tell anyoneâ
âCan you trust me on this one, Fuyumi?â

âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚ
Touya as a dad?
Hands down the cutest thing to watch
like, not only is he obviously gonna be protective af
but heâs also so soft when it comes to his kids
bc he doesnât want them to experience the same feelings he did growing up
so he pushes them to be great
but also gives them room to fail, and helps them learn to try harder
âunachievableâ dreams arenât a thing when Touya is a father
he wasnât given the chance to become a hero and live his dreams
So he will never push his kids to give up on their own dreams, or put them down for them either
They wanna be an artist? Dads gonna get em the best supplies
a singer? Heâll find someone to give them lessons and heâll listen to every little song they come up with
They wanna be a hero? Heâs teaching them everything heâs learned and helping em make âspecial movesâ
They want to be a makeup artist? He absolutely lets em do his makeup whenever they ask
They wanna be a villain? Touya only considers talking them out of it once, changes his mind, and now teaches them how to pick pockets and lets em (secretly) join him on smaller missions to âshow you the ropes, but donât tell mom đâ
the list goes on and on and heâll do it all with a smile on his face because he never wants his kids to feel like their dreams are unattainable or a burden to him.
so thereâs that đđđ
deefinitely has days where he takes the kids out while you rest, bc for one you get to chill, for two he absolutely loves spending quality time with his kids every chance he gets
If heâs still with the league after having kids, he usually walks into the hideout with rainbow colored nails
and heâs flexing them on EVERYONE
like âcheck out how awesome my daughter is at manicuresâ
Toga is lowkey jealous
so occasionally Touya lets her babysit
which is also the cutest thing ever
bc sheâs so sweet to the kids
Shiggy just stares at them like âu made those? But theyâre so cute?? and youâre ugly as fuck??â
Shiggy then gets bitch slapped into next month
by Touyas kids
bc âmy dad is NOT ugly uncle Shiggy đ¤đ¤â
yes uncle shiggy
one big happy family of villains who never had big happy families
but thatâs okay cos Touyas gonna make sure his kids do have that đđ
aka Touya would be like an actually great dad
and his other reason for making sure to be a good father
The one he doesnât mention
is that heâs proving to Enji that it IS possible to be a supportive father
like Touya is absolUTELY gonna rub it in Enjis face when he sees that Touyaâs kids actually like him lmao
like that meme of Enji and Aizawa thatâs like âyour kids say happy Fatherâs Day to you on Fatherâs Day?!â
Except itâs Touya just smugly like âyeah believe it or not my kids actually like me because yk I actually care about them đ¤ˇââď¸â
so heâd have way too much fun doing that
but just generally I think heâd love being a dad
and I think heâd do it well đĽşđĽş
âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚ
Ngl I was cackling writing the âthey wanna be a villain?â Part bc why can I see Touya carrying like a whole baby strapped to his chest on a mission đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł

For Shoutoâs boyfriend⌠I do like the idea of a chef but I also think he comes from big Old Money and itâs more a side job for him. Shouto is actually less rich than him and itâs this petty joy that heâs the sugar baby.
Oh this is beautiful yes!
They have like 7 cats, no kids because Shouto has to much trauma and they love it.
7 cats, and all his nieces and nephews, biological or honorary. His words, "I can return them at the end of the day." made everyone laugh, even Fuyumi.
She looks at them and wonders how her father ever did that to them.
Fuyumi straight up cried, the day they took their oldest daughter home. How could anyone look at a human this small and fragile and not want to shield them from everything awful in the world?
"I don't-" Fuyumi hiccuped. Shouto would find it funny that his sister was so drunk if it wasn't for the tears pouring down her face. "I don't understand how he could do that to us? How could he just throw us to the side and treat us like that? It's... it's BULLSHIT!" she threw her arms up.
"It is," Natsuo said. He pulled out his phone to show the picture of his son again. "Look at my baby. How could..."
"I don't know," Shouto sighed. He wasn't drunk. He didn't like the taste, and he'd seen drunk Enji become hangover asshole Enji, so he'd rather never touch it. "It's bullshit," he agreed.
"I look at my baby, and I can't..." Fuyumi covered her face. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wanted you to forgive him," she said.
"Thank you," Shouto sighed.
They were all fucked over by their father. It was just that for him, it was more obvious.
That was the truth of abuse. Even if there was only one scapegoat, the others suffered too.
"I miss Touya," Natsuo breathed. "But..."
But he would have a better life now.
(Shouto pretended he wasn't jealous of his brother for the chance to do so.)

I doubt we'll ever get it but I would love it if Horo gave us more information about Rei's thought process now that we know about her family. Did she want a second child because she wanted an ice baby to carry on the quirk or did she want a "failure" with a fire quirk to get away from her parents ideals once and for all? Was she happy or sad with her ice quirk daughter who inherited her quirk but not her fate of being married off for bigoted reasons? How did she feel when Natsuo came out as the perfect ice quirk baby boy her parents had most likely wanted Rei herself to be? Does she know about Natsuo's mouse eared girlfriend?
Oh, I would definitely love to have more info about Rei!
I hate how we don't even have her character profile contrary to other characters who have a much smaller role and yet have a profile, like Jiro's parents, the elementary school teacher or Kurumada to name a few...
I was really hoping her profile would be added to the new volume since in it we learn things about her family and she has a relevant role but instead... no luck.
She gets a color image (along with Natsuo) but... that's all.

To have more info about herself from her voice would have been definitely nice (I mean, why it has to be Geten the one who speaks about the Himura? It could have been her and Horikoshi could show us an image of Geten as she spoke/thought about it just to clue us in on how he too was an Himura if that was really important for future developments).
However, it could be he believed some answers were intuitive enough due to the story theme and structure.
I mean, I'm not Horikoshi but if we take your question and look at them from a Doylistic perspective...
1) Did she want a second child because she wanted an ice baby to carry on the quirk or did she want a "failure" with a fire quirk to get away from her parents ideals once and for all?
This is Enji's perspective, of course, but when the narrative doesn't try to counter it, the reader is generally expected to accept what a character say about another character as true... so likely Rei only wanted more children so that they could encourage each other (while Enji still yearned for the perfect Quirk).
The story never shows Rei as having an interest in Quirks, so she likely didn't care about her children's Quirks, she just wanted to love them, which fit with how the narrative wants to portray her as a loving mother... mostly in contrast with how Enji failed as a parent.
2) Was she happy or sad with her ice quirk daughter who inherited her quirk but not her fate of being married off for bigoted reasons?
Again, there's no reference to Rei's reaction to her children's Quirks, in contrast to how Enji is happy because, even though it's not perfect, Touya's Quirk has more potential than his own.
The narrative is likely trying to drive home how Enji is focused on his children's Quirks, so by contrast Rei isn't. Enji doesn't comment on his wife's reaction to their daughter's ice Quirk, the whole thing is likely meant to tell us that Rei instead, didn't care about Quirks because Rei is the good parent who loves children unconditionally.
So yeah, I think she was happy with Fuyumi regardless of her Quirk.
The anime drives this better home with this small addition that shows Rei smiling at little Fuyumi.

The interaction is meant to parallel Enji and Touya's but where Enji is happy because Touya shows him his fire, here Rei is happy because Fuyumi shows her flowers.
Mind you, a funny thing about BNHA that not always western readers seem to catch is that even if BNHA criticizes Quirk Marriage, arranged marriage is still a thing in both BNHA and real life Japan...

...and, I think, this is actually what Horikoshi is subtly trying to criticize.
Not the attempt to create a baby with a perfect Quirk, but the fact Enji wants to marry Rei for self interest and not love, and Rei's family is all in favour of the marriage because it's advantagious for them too.
This is still a thing in real life (though luckily it's slowly disappearing), and it's likely what Horikoshi is trying to criticize.
A more adult story "Umineko no naku koro ni" discusses the idea behind arranged marriages. Here I present you a bit of an exchange between a mother (Eva) and her son (George) when she wants to push him into an arranged marriage (as she had been pushed into). Don't be fooled by the western names, they're pure Japanese people, it's just the family which has an obsession for western names.
"Shouldn't marriage meetings be done at a more mature age...?! I still don't feel like I've become an adult..." "Of course, we have no desire to rush into an immediate engagement or marriage, right? It isn't a problem if you deepen your friendship, and then when you settle down as you age, have her moved to our family register." From Eva's forceful appearance, and George's somewhat lazy one, the others could catch a glimpse of the scheme behind this marriage meeting. They didn't know who this other person was, but it was surely someone profitable to Eva's family in a business sense. This whole thing about having them have an engagement relationship until they changed registers to deepen the connection between the two families felt almost like a political strategy. "Marriage isn't something you do after you start liking someone. You fall in love after you do it, right? If you marry just based on emotions, you'll definitely regret it. There's definitely nothing wrong with choosing a person with a secure background for your partner in life, and then building up emotions of love."
In case you're wondering the story (which is placed in 1986 so not centuries ago) isn't in favour of arranged marriages, it just presents the view on it of an important rich family.
Plus Eva, the mother, having been lucky and having been married to a really amazing man, doesn't see nothing wrong in what was done to her.
By having Rei's kids speaking against how Rei was sold, by showing how bad her marriage was, I tend to think this is what Horikoshi is subtly trying to speak against, arranged marriages, not so much just Quirk marriages.
Of course, we could argue that the Himura's tendency to marry among them isn't meant to parallel marriages for interest but marriages out of racistic beliefs... and it could be but Horikoshi tosses it so late in the game it feels like something he came up all of sudden. It was a perfectly valid point to make but it ended up being too rushed to be something that can be apprecciated.
I tend to wonder if the problem was maybe the "Dark Hero arc" was meant to be longer and in it the whole Himura family thing as well as Enji's father death were meant to play a bigger role... but the arc ended up being cut short and so Horikoshi had to salvage what he could when it wa too late for him to give it the space it needed.
(also, part of the Todoroki's story was retconned so it's hard to judge things correctly but more about this later).
3) How did she feel when Natsuo came out as the perfect ice quirk baby boy her parents had most likely wanted Rei herself to be?
The visual shows her smiling at baby Natsuo and "School Briefs" have Natsuo talk about her as a loving mother for him, one who compensate how his father didn't look at him, and in the manga interactions with Natsuo she just seem to love him so I would say she was happy with how Natsuo was.
I like to represent Rei as a single child in my fic, but in truth we don't know if she was a single child. Rei might have siblings, brothers, and she might not even be the firstborn. The main family could have had more children than Enji did for all we know, and, in truth, what they really needed was only a male heir to carry on the family... which they might have had. The Himura's thick blood narration is likely there to insure the readers the Himura children would all have an ice Quirk due to the Himura thick blood, to the point that even Touya, who apparently seemed not to have it, ultimately had it.
So in addition to the story showing Rei having no interest in her children's Quirks, it can be that her family already had a perfect heir and no expectations where put on Rei, as it can be she was just a second born child like Fuyumi (in a traditional Japanese family all the expectations are generally put on the first male child born in the family, not even on the second male child unless, for some exceedingly rare reason, the first male born child fails at being a suitable heir).
However Natsuo's birth came with a big problem tied with it.
Rei didn't want another kid, not so much because she didn't want more children, but because she figured Touya would be hurt by them trying to product another perfect Quirk child.
The story feds us with Enji's excuse, that they're having it because this will stop Touya from burning himself, this will make Touya give up.
There's a debate in the fandom if, at this point, Enji committed marital rape or if Rei let herself be persuaded and agreed reluctantly to have Natsuo.
(by the way, on June 16, 2023 the Upper House of Parliament in Japan passed passed unanimously a new law which, in addition to raising the age of consent from 13 to 16, defines rape as ânonconsensual sexual intercourseâ and removes a previous requirement that the crime had to include physical force to be called rape. Until now, Japanâs laws on sexual assault did not mention consent, reflecting skepticism that anyone could be forced into sex without violence... and, even though it does not deny spousal rape, no court has ever ruled on such a case, except in situations of marital breakdown... meaning by the time Horikoshi wrote this scene he might have not concerned himself with the whole matter)
Regardless of which theory you decide to embrace, Natsuo having an ice Quirk doesn't fix things by either proving Enji right or wrong, which is what leads to Shouto's birthday.
So while the narrative doesn't show Rei as a woman interested in her children's Quirks, the narrative also tells us that Natsuo's ice Quirk is a problem because, with it, the situation can only stay unchanged or get worse while I think she had hope that Shouto's perfect Quirk would have solved things.
4) Does she know about Natsuo's mouse eared girlfriend?

Manga and anime translation seem to disagree but this is the text in the Japanese manga.
'Zemi de kanojo de kitan datte'
ăźăă§ĺ˝źĺĽłă§ăăăă ăŁăŚ
"I heard (from you/from someone else) that (you/he) got a girlfriend at the seminar."
The sentence doesn't say from who Fuyumi heard it (nor if she's talking directly to him or reporting what Natsuo is doing to Rei), so it can be she heard someone say so, but it's more likely Natsuo told her so, especially since Natsuo and Fuyumi talk about what Natsuo will do with his girlfriend to celebrate the new year.
The manga will also show Fuyumi meeting the girl... so it's not like he's hiding her from his sister, a sign they weren't educated into thinking Heteromorphs aren't someone they should associate with.
So I think that the idea is that with that sentence Fuyumi just informed Rei about how Natsuo has a girlfriend. As the topic immediately switches it's hard to say if Natsuo eventually said Rei more about her, like that she's an Heteromorph.
Would Rei or someone in the Todoroki family have problems because she's an heteromorph? Likely not. They're all city people and the manga established that in big cities Heteromorphs aren't discriminated in fact according to Shoji, Heteromorph kids kile Koda and Tokoyami and others who grew up in cities would only have read of such things in books...

...and even the Heteromprh guy of the MLA agrees that in cities discrimination is a thing of the past.

The overall narrative message was that, in addition to how education can win discrimination is that yes, the UA kids (Shouto, Mineta, Tsunotori) when talking to Heteromorphs called them by their animal Quirk but this doesn't mean they're racist, they just don't know any better, which yes, wasn't something that impressed positively many in the fandom as it seems a poor way to handle all that but, for the sake of it existing let's just say the narrative wants to tell us city people won't think ill of Heteromorphs so probably Rei, which I assume is a city person since she's from the main house, wouldn't see them any different from how she would see other people.
Plus, narratively, she's meant to be a good person.
Note though that this is all said from a Doylistic perspective. Because the author wants to say certain things or doesn't say certain things or has certain themes it's reasonable to assume my speculations could be the answer but... there's nearly zero canon proof of it so it's not like I can call all I've said as surely right.
Plus there's something to keep in mind about the narrative of the Todoroki story, something that can cause problems in interpreting Rei and the narrative around her correctly... which is that the whole Todoroki plotline was retconned, possibly even more than once.
In fact, we start with this bit in chap 44 in which Shouto says he NEVER went to see Rei (after she was hospitalized).
Note that Fuyumi's question seems also to hint at how it was Shouto's choice to decide not to go to her and she's surprised he's doing it after all this time but she's not worried about which consequences this could have on her mother, just if they would need her father's permission to do so.
Then we move to chap 250, which implies Touya died after their mother was hospitalized and THIS caused Rei to get worse to the point she couldn't see Shouto any longer.
So it's no more Shouto's choice and he never went to her. Now it's just Rei getting worse in hospital AFTER TOUYA DIES so Shouto couldn't anymore. And Fuyumi singles out just Shouto, which imply she and Natsuo could.
Then we jump to chap 302 magazine version in which Rei says how, after Touya was gone she began seeing Enji in her children, meaning this is what caused Shouto's burn, the visual supporting the idea... though the visual adds Natsuo too to the kids which reminded her of Enji, not just Shouto.

So no, Touya now didn't die anymore after Rei's hospitalization but before it, meaning Rei too was also responsible for not going after him when he went on Sekoto Peak.
This time though, someone warned Horikoshi of how he contradicted previous canon and so the whole thing was changed for the volume version. A page was added to make clear Rei was in hospital when Touya 'died'...
...and the image behind Rei's balloon was switched to one that showed her hospital room.
Narratively it would have probably been better if Rei's lines of dialogues had been switched so that those saying she was in hospital were placed where we can see the hospital door and the one in which she said she couldn't stand the sight of Enji in the new page but whatever.
Why all this is relevant?
In the very first part of the story Rei is, narratively, just a victim. She's a good mother, who suffered a lot, to the point Shouto forgets her smiling face when she told him he could be a Hero and remembers her solely crying...
...when in truth she also found the strength to smile and support him...
... never mention the times she would get between him and his father and get hit in his place...
It would stand to reason such a good mother would have protected and supported Touya too, and the fact she ended up hospitalized was why he ended up unsupervised, making the whole thing with Touya something due to which solely Enji was to blame.
But, when he fixed Touya's history in chap 301/302, Horikoshi likely decided the whole family had to be to blame.
So Rei isn't supportive of Touya's dream (which in BNHA is generally bad) but tells Touya to stop as well...
...and in the first draft was even meant to be at home and be as well responsible for not going after Touya when he was on Sekoto Peak and then burned.
The worsening of Enji and the consequent snapping of Rei would be caused by Touya's death of which they both were directly responsible as they didn't go after him.
Only... Horikoshi is then reminded Rei couldn't be at home when Touya burned as she was hospitalized before Touya's 'death'... so things... get changed.
And that's not the sole instance where the narrative change things.
Both Shouto and Touya points out how Enji forced Rei's family to give her up.
...only for Rei claiming that yes, her options were limited but she chose and could have refused (and the Himura family looking not forced at all but delighted to sell her off)... only for the story to late tell us hadn't the Himura family sold her to Enji, they would have handed her off in marriage to some distant cousin which basically it's insurance Enji didn't have to force her family at all to sell her. Selling daughters was standard practice for them.
And those aren't the sole instances where the narrative gives us mixed or retconned messages.
(Despite all this though I still love the Todoroki story!)
So... it's really hard to figure which message the narrative, for now, is trying to pass about Rei, beyond that they wanted her to be an overall loving mother and good person, who however made a mistake with his eldest and snapped when she saw her youngest.
As a result, since canon is so vague and the narrative changed way too many times, well, more CANON info about her would have been greatly apprecciated, at least as far as I'm involved.
Since Horikoshi isn't even showing her profile though, I fear he just isn't interested in doing so... which for me is sad as I TOTALLY LOVE THE TODOROKI FAMILY and really wanted to know more about them...
So yes, I join you in the wish for more info about the Todoroki family because speculating as I just this is fun but... it's not canon and my guesses might have been completely off track.
Thank you for your ask and sorry for the long reply but I love to talk about the Todoroki family!

rei relationship with her children it's decent or
I keep putting this off so I'm answering it rn
Rei's relationship with her children is actually very good, once she started having them she became a stay at home mom, Enji insisted cause he was making enough to take care of him and the kids and Rei agreed cause she wanted to give her kids the mother figure she didn't have growing up.
You wouldn't have guessed it from first glance but Rei is actually a very affectionate mother, whenever she had a new baby it was hard for her to put them back down at first.
Rei is also the easiest parent to talk to, she isn't judgmental and more encouraging for the kids to find themselves, if they make stupid mistakes she knows that's just a part of life ( she still gives out punishments if needed she's just the more lenient of the two but if the kids where to upset her it would hit the hardest)
Where the issue comes in is that Rei is pretty much doing most of the parenting and the emotional labor when it comes to the kids, she loves them but what's frustrating is that Enji is as active in the kids lives as she is, which she calls him out on, she understands he has work but it wouldn't kill him to make some time for them and talk to them, I feel like Enji would be that kind of parent that thinks providing for the kids is enough.
This of course leads to them arguing sometimes cause Rei is tired of always being the one having to do most of the parenting, which leads to Enji hiring a Nanny to help out Rei, but of course that's NOT what she meant, she wants him to be a part of their lives as much as she is.
Toya- just felt like he was a failure cause he couldn't carry on his father's hero legacy cause of his disability, Rei tied her best to be encouraging and look after him but it HARD cause he wants his father's love too, hearing her say that his father loves him isn't enough, he wants him to acknowledge his existence.
Fuyumi- knows her mother loves her and well.....she THINKS her dad loves her but, deep down she thinks her father only does so out of obligation cause she's his daughter and she feels like her dad treats her differently cause she's a girl, comes up cause Rei was more then happy to train her once she found out they had the same quirk but Enji is more disapproving of it (though he mostly did is out of protectiveness)
Natsuo- Rei made him feel like he was actually worth something, she was a big part of his life talking to him and helping him find his place in the world, Natsuo was only had cause Enji was actively trying to have a kid that was the perfect blend of his a Rei's quirk, so when he had his mom's quirk he didn't bother much with interaction outside the norm.
Shoto- LOVES his mom cause she sees him as an actual kid and not just something used for personal gain, Rei would tell Shoto that he doesn't need to be a hero and that alone was enough for him, he still wants to be one, but it's nice to hear that he has other options and that he'll still be loved if he changes his mind, he of course doesn't feel ANY love from his dad, he KNOWS that he's only reason he had him was to succeed where he thought he failed, he feels more like a tool if anything.
Anyways, if you were to ask them if they love their mom they would say yes without hesitation but if you asked if they loved their dad, Fuyumi be the only one to answer while the rest just sat there.
